Andrew Johnson chatted about representing Texas in the 2025 Mister USA competition. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

“I am ecstatic,” he exclaimed about being a part of this year’s pageant. “It’s a great opportunity and it feels very special and unique for me.”

Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants.

On representing Texas, he said, “It’s my home state… it’s the home of barbecue, brisket, and Spanish heritage. My mother is from Spain, so to be able to be part of a community that is so diverse is so cool.”

Regarding his advocacy for Mister USA, he shared, “I’m here for the team so everyone is lifting each other up, and sharing the moment together. We are all in this together. We are family.”

“The brotherhood has been amazing! I met a lot of cool people,” he admitted. “It has been beyond expectations.”

On his daily motivations, he shared, “I am motivated by success, hard work, and going in for the kill… because I’m a matador.”

When asked about his superpower of choice, he responded, “I already have all of them. It’s my mentality on how I approach life. Let’s go! Andrew Texas.”

On his definition of success, he said, “Success is different for everyone. So, I can’t put it into one box and meaning. Success would be achieving my dreams to perform at Coachella, and perhaps win Mister USA… we shall see.”
