Actress and TV host Melissa Peterman (“Reba”) chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about being a judge on “Finding Mr. Christmas” Season 2.
Host Jonathan Bennett and judge Melissa Peterman kick off the hunt for Hallmark’s next leading man as ten new hunks compete in the second season of “Finding Mr. Christmas.”
On returning for the second season, Peterman remarked, “It’s a dream job. I get to hang out with Jonathan Bennett, who I just adore, and I get to hang out with 10 fantastic guys. When Jonathan first asked me, I knew it was going to be fun and great but I had no idea how heartwarming and emotional it was going to be… and how attached I was going to get to the 10 men.”
“It’s a really special experience,” Peterman admitted. “I think it has got a really wonderful mix… it’s a competition show but it’s also so heartwarming. It has that Hallmark feel where you are watching people compete, but we want to see them in the best light. They are rooting for each other.”
“So, I think it’s a really special show and I am really proud to be a part of it,” Peterman acknowledged.
“This show is awesome, and pretty cool,” Peterman admitted.

Peterman on Jake Schum going out of his comfort zone
Peterman complimented contestant Jake Schum for going out of his comfort zone (being a former football player) and competing in this reality show competition.
“I think Jake Schum really inspired people to go after their dreams,” Peterman said. “Jake did this one thing for a really long time (football) and he had this dream of doing another thing, so why not take the risk and take a jump. Jake made a pivot, and to me, that’s inspiring… to go from ‘I know football’ but ‘I want to try this dream’ and Jake jumped in with his full heart, and that’s fabulous.”
Peter Porte
Peterman also had kind words about actor and friend Peter Porte. “Peter is my bestie… he’s my TV husband and my best friend. I love him,” she exclaimed.
