British actress Charlotte Kirk chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in the new movie “Jackie the Stripper.”

The synopsis is: A female empowerment grind house comedy action thriller. Jackie and her band of female vigilante assassins hatch a plan to kill six members of the evil male dominated court. With deadly and hilarious consequences.

‘Jackie the Stripper’

On being a part of this movie, she exclaimed, “It was so much fun, and it’s not what you think it is. A lot of people think it’s about Jackie playing a stripper, but it isn’t.”

“It’s hard to say too much without giving it away, but it’s basically a group of women who are in disguise of strippers to revenge their demons and their enemies, essentially,” she noted.

“I’ve worked with Michael Head before on a previous film, ‘Bermondsey Tales’ with John Hannah, which was great. He is really fabulous at British, sarcastic comedy. It was just a lot of fun. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. It knows what it is. It knows what it’s not trying to be. I’m really excited,” she elaborated.

“It’s coming out in theaters the U.S. next month, and we are having the premiere here in July. I’m really, really excited about it. It’s a very different project for me,” she added.

Kirk on being a mother to baby ‘Hunter

On being a mother to her baby Hunter, she stated, “Hunter is gorgeous. I love him more and more each day. It’s a blessing. It’s a whole new world. He is my first and he is staring at me right now like ‘What’s going on, mommy?’ With babies you never know what to expect. There isn’t a guidebook to help you with mothership.”

“You learn as you go, you things day by day, and you enjoy each day,” she added.

Kirk on ‘The Possession at Gladstone Manor’

Kirk enjoyed being a part of the supernatural horror film “The Possession at Gladstone Manor” alongside Scream Queen Lin Shaye, Jesse Metcalfe, and Barbara Crampton. “That was an awesome experience,” she said. “I’m very excited about that horror movie. Even though we don’t have an exact date, it will be released in September.”

“It has such a great cast… Jesse Metcalfe, Lin Shaye, and Barbara Crampton! What more can I say, and I had a really fun role in it. I played the edgy, gothy girlfrield. That was a lot of fun, and I cannot wait to see the finished product,” she added.

Kirk on ‘Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow’

Kirk is thrilled to be a part of the thriller “Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow,” where she is now starring opposite Britton Webb. “I’ve done a lot of horror in my career and a lot of action. This time, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do a romance. So, I found this book and I fell in love with it,” she said.

“I’ve read so many of these books, but this one just stood out to me, and I just loved the story and the characters. So, we shot that last year in New Mexico,” she noted.

“We got Britton Webb of ‘Day of Reckoning,’ who smashed it out of the park, and he was amazing. He was really phenomenal and I am excited about this project. We took it to Cannes Film Festival,” she added.

Kirk on ‘Mistletoe & Wine’

Kirk shared that she is excited for her forthcoming holiday movie titled “Mistletoe & Wine” with Jason Isaacs. “Basically, the whole movie is improv; no scripts. So, that was a lot of fun,” she admitted. “Jason is such an amazing actor, and this was a lot of fun. Again, it was a very different film because it was improv and you never knew what you were going to get each day.”

Future plans and projects

On the title of the current chapter of her life, she said, “I’m about to shoot a film in September called ‘Spiral Down,’ which Neil Marshall wrote. It’s basically ‘Seven’ meets ‘Silence of the Lambs.’ I read it a couple of years ago, and I fell in love with it. Robert De Niro read it, and wanted to play Detective Carnahan, the lead guy. Neil and I flew to New York, met him and sat with him in his office, he was going to do the role but then COVID happened.”

“So, we just took a break, and we did another project instead. Neil is not going to be directing it, but he will be producing it. So, I’m really excited about that. We are talking to a really exceptional actor for the lead role, and I am excited about that,” she added.

Message for her fans

For her fans, Kirk expressed, “I hope the are enjoying the different roles that I’m playing, and the different projects that I’m involved in. I would like to know what they want to see from me next. As a creative myself, I love to explore doing different genres and playing different characters.”

“In particular, my horror fans are so dedicated. They are just absorbed in this world of horror and they go to all the conventions, and it’s just the best,” she said.

“Making a horror movie is just the funnest experience, and it’s the best. They are just so much fun,” she added.

Closing thoughts on ‘Jackie the Stripper’ movie

Kirk remarked about the movie “Jackie the Stripper,” “This movie is like a popcorn film… it’s just pleasing for the eye because there are lots of beautiful women because it’s obviously based on a strip club even though we are not strippers. It’s fun and I hope the fans gets lots of laughs from it.”

“I hope they get that escapism for an hour and a half where they just laugh and you get absorbed into these insane, wild, eccentric characters. Have fun. Enjoy it for what it is,” she concluded.
