Isaac Ramirez chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in “Someone Like Xavier” on CandyJar.
The synopsis is: Forced into servitude by her wicked stepmother, Melody’s life flips upside down when a desperate closet kiss with a handsome stranger turns out to be Xavier, her family’s wealthy new CEO guest.
Trapped between a forced corporate engagement to her toxic stepsister and a buried inheritance, the two must navigate dangerous blackmails to fight for their fairytale romance.
Playing Xavier
On playing the title character Xavier, he said, “It was great! It was such an awesome experience with a great cast and crew. Everybody there from the producers, actors, and the crew members felt like a family. Honestly, it was incredible. I had a wonderful experience with everybody.”
“I love how grounded Xavier is. He cares about Melody and he cares a lot about his father’s reputation. I think that is something that he is very passionate about,” he noted.
“Then, he finds himself struggling, especially with his love life, the business side of things, his family’s legacy, and his reputation. He is trying to figure out how to balance everything, and it’s so hard for him. It’s just a constant struggle,” he elaborated.
“We filmed for quite a bit of time, but I really enjoyed it. It was a great time, so I really can’t say anything bad about it, to be honest,” he added.
Working with Kyra Wisely
Ramirez praised his female co-star Kyra Wisely for playing Melody. “Kyra was so great. She did a terrific job… she has been doing verticals for a long time now. She has so many vertical credits under her belt,” he said.
Lessons learned from ‘Someone Like Xavier’
On the lessons learned from this vertical, he said, “It taught me that I have a lot to give in this space. I definitely love the acting world, and I enjoy it a lot.”
“I have a lot of emotions and a lot of life experience that I can bring to the camera. I think people will see the genuine side of me, and I want to be able to do that,” he noted.
“I’m a normal guy, too, but when I’m able to step in front of a camera, I enjoy giving people my rawness. I want to give that to the people out there,” he acknowledged.
“I’m just a typical guy. I still have a full-time job as a firefighter, too. Being able to step in front of a camera and just share that rawness with people is something that I really enjoy,” he added.
Working with CandyJar
Ramirez enjoyed working with the streaming app CandyJar for this project. “CandyJar is such a great company. For my first vertical, I think it was such a great place to begin. They did such an incredible job,” he said.
“The producers, director, the cast and the crew members were so professional, nice, and organized. I would definitely work with them again. I would love to someday get another opportunity to work with CandyJar,” he added.
Closing thoughts on ‘Someone Like Xavier’
For his fans, he remarked about “Someone like Xavier,” “It’s a typical life experience for everybody! We all struggle with that. You try to figure out how to balance your love life, your business side, or whatever else you have going on in your normal life. You must find a place where you can balance both.”
“I think I can see that in my own life, too. If you really want to make something work, you are going to have to figure out how to balance it all. Xavier is a great character, and I really enjoyed playing him. So, I think other people will love him, too,” he concluded.
