Actors Jake Lively and Nico Tortorella sizzle in the new vertical drama “Salt Kiss” for ReelShort. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

The synopsis is: Ex-soldier Tristan Thomas (Jake Lively) becomes a bodyguard to his uncle-in-law Mark Trevena (Nico Tortorella), a billionaire who runs an exclusive sex club Lyonesse.

Despite his best efforts to stay professional, Tristan’s drawn to his boss’ dominance.

They are able to bring Sierra Simone’s novel to life, and they immerse audiences in the Lyonesse universe. The screenplay is audacious and they both have magnetic and undeniable chemistry with each other.

Jake Lively soars as the bodyguard Tristan, and he layers his emotions well; moreover, his affecting rapport with Totorella allows for more resonance. There is a striking sincerity to his performance, particularly in the quieter moments when Tristan’s defenses begin to crumble. It showcases both of their range as actors and storytellers.

Tortorella delivers a commanding performance as the ruthless Mark Trevena, but underneath all that power and authority, he does have a heart. He understands that Mark’s power does not simply come from his wealth or his imposing persona… it comes from his ability to command attention without seemingly asking for it.
