Amazon Prime Day is the two-day global shopping extravaganza exclusively available for Prime members. The online giant has finally confirmed which days this year’s event will take place – and Express.co.uk has a quick read guide to help you prepare for the big day. Here is everything you need to know about Prime day 2020.
The epic fire sale usually occurs in July, but Amazon postponed its Prime Day by several months due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The online giant has today confirmed Prime Day will run from 12.01am BST on October 13 to 11.59pm on October 14.
This period will see Prime customers presented with an almost unimaginable selection of products with prices slashed.
Amazon has also announced there will be more than one million deals available, including goods from some of the biggest brands such as Philips, Lego, Sony and Samsung, to name only a select few.
Amazon Prime Day arrives after a nightmare time for businesses big and small due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Doug Gurr, Amazon UK Country Manager said in a statement: “After a tough six months for everyone, we’re committed to making this the most successful Prime Day ever for small businesses.”
Last year, the retailer said it sold more than 175 million products, dubbing the sale the “largest shopping event in Amazon history”.
This saw the event smash retail records from the previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday events combined.
And industry insiders expect this year’s event to be even more of success.
In an attempt to give a boost to struggling small businesses, Amazon has also launched a new £10 promotional voucher.
Amazon has announced until October 12, Amazon Prime customers who purchase anything worth £10 from a local seller will receive £10 credit to spend on Amazon Prime Day.
Among the local businesses Amazon Prime users can support is The Pyjama Factory.
And accessories company Stackers is, for example, selling a zipped ID case for just £17.50.
