Amy Winehouse was ‘the HAPPIEST she had been in years’ just before her death

Amy Winehouse thrilled her fans throughout her career, as her music really resonated with countless numbers of people. Millions of her fans were devastated when she tragically passed away in 2011 due to alcohol poisoning.

Despite battling against substance addiction in the past, she was recently clean and sober.

Her death was widely publicised, and her fans still remember her well.

The star’s official Twitter account still posts regularly, with the latest post including a photo of the jazz singer in high spirits.

Today, September 14, was her birthday – and today she would have been 37 years old.

Shortly after her death in 2011 her family held a funeral for her.

During the funeral her father, Mitch Winehouse, delivered a touching eulogy which praised his daughter for her joyous life.

Throughout the event he said: “Amy was the greatest daughter, family member, and friend you could ever have.

“I will talk a lot about her fantastic recovery. Recently Amy found love with Reg.

“We spoke three times a day at least, she was very excited.”

However it was her final conversation with her bodyguard, Andrew Morris, that made Winehouse sound a little unhappy.

On Winehouse’s final day alive, Morris said: “She was showing me some clips on her laptop and she was singing and she said ‘boy, I can sing’ and I said ‘damn right, you can sing.’

“She said: ‘if I could I would give it back just to walk down the street with no hassle, I would’.”
