Back to the Future creator’s TOUCHING tribute to DeLorean time machine designer Ron Cobb
The Back to the Future writer and producer said: “Ron just has this really interesting, earthy quality to his work that was unique and special.”
Fast forward to 1984 and Gale and director Robert Zemeckis were trying to work out what the time machine version of the DeLorean car was going to look like.
The early ideas they’d seen were too slick, with the two Bobs feeling the car had to really look like Doc Brown had built it in his garage.
So they decided to get Cobb’s perspective on it, who was available for only a couple of weeks.
