The doctor continued: “Young people know they are part of the ecosystem of everyone all working together to try to dampen this virus down.”
When asked about aiming for a “zero Covid” goal where restrictions are semi-permanent, Siân said: “The question of whether, over the longer term, we do change some aspects of our lifestyle – I was part on the inquiry into SARS in Hong Kong, and post SARS we found many more people wearing masks more often, that may be something that the public adopt.”
Chris asked: “Should we be wearing masks all the time, maybe in the winter or on public transport or in particular circumstances?”
Siân advised: “Maybe we should be wearing masks on public transport – anywhere where you are in a closed environment. This is a virus that transmits very quickly if you’re in close contact with somebody.”
