Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War beta: New way to start playing early on PS4 and Xbox

For most gamers, there will only be a few ways to score a Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War early access beta code. This includes pre-ordering the game, or waiting for the open beta to launch on your chosen platform. As a reminder, Activision has already confirmed the date for when the beta will be running and there are difference depending on which platform you’ll be using.

It was confirmed earlier this year that the first weekend of multiplayer action would be released on October 8, 2020.

It should also be noted that the first Call of Duty Cold War beta will be on PS4, followed by other platforms. Activision has also confirmed that the first COD open beta will be coming to PS4 on October 10.

Weekend Two of the Cold War beta will include players from Xbox One and PC who have pre-ordered the game, as well as open access for all PS4 players.

October 17 will be the start of the Call of Duty Black Ops open beta for everyone, running until October 19.

BETA WEEKEND ONE

• OCT. 8-9: PS4 EARLY ACCESS
• OCT. 10-12: PS4 OPEN BETA

WEEKEND 2 CROSSPLAY BETA

• OCT. 15-16: XBOX + PC EARLY ACCESS + PS4 OPEN ACCESS
• OCT. 17-19: OPEN ALL PLATFORMS

And following the official announcements made by Activision, we now know that there will be a third way to score an early access code for the Cold War beta.

Xfinity has confirmed that through a new collaboration with Activision, all Xfinity customers are being given early access to the Open Beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War alongside those who have already pre-ordered the game; three days before its opened up for everyone.

Beginning today, Xfinity customers can visit xfinity.com/callofduty and register for a unique code.

Early Access to the Open Beta, first on PlayStation 4, is from October 8-9. PlayStation 4 Open Beta is from October 10-12.

Early Access on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 is from October 15-16. Open Beta on all eligible platforms is October 17-19.

It should be noted that all eligible early access codes must be requested and redeemed by October 18, 2020.

A message from Xfinity adds: “Please allow at least 24 hours after successfully requesting a code for delivery to the primary email account associated with your Xfinity subscription.

“Once you receive an early access code via an email from Xfinity, go to www.callofduty.com/xfinity. You must then login/create a Call of Duty account and select your gaming platform.

“Then, closer to the start of the beta (within hours of beta start time), you will receive a platform-specific code via email from Activision with instructions on how to redeem the platform-specific code.

“When you request your platform-specific code you will select which platform you’ll be playing on. Platform-specific codes are available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.”

More news regarding the Call of Duty Cold War beta is expected to be announced ahead of the launch in early October.
