Fans are counting down until the next major Call of Duty Warzone, and Vanguard patches are released across PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
The reason for this is that the game’s first major event for Season One will be part of them, complete with new content and unlockable cosmetics.
But there will also be playlist changes that will alter what is available in both Call of Duty titles.
Right now, gamers can enjoy Vanguard Royale, Battle Royale Quads, and Plunder. But later this week, Rebirth Island will return, and there’s a slim chance Raven Software will add another Battle Royale option.
This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but fans are waiting for when they can start exploring Caldera in smaller groups than four.
Meanwhile, Vanguard will also be getting fresh content, including new modes and challenges.
Throughout Festive Fervor, those who get in the holiday mood and complete challenges will get free rewards, including an Epic LMG Blueprint for conquering all six challenges in Vanguard Multiplayer or Warzone Pacific.
In Vanguard, the Festive Fervor Challenges include eliminating some of those holiday nuisances across all Multiplayer modes, playing Shipmas, or simply getting in the spirit of the season and opening Care Packages like presents under the tree.
Your rewards for doing so include a Battle Pass Tier Skip, a Double XP Token, and cosmetic rewards for your weapons and player profile.
The new Armageddon Mode will also be available to play and will carry on the tradition of Drop Zone from other COD titles.
At the start of a match, both teams will fight for control of a marked area somewhere on the map, where Care Packages will drop in on a set timer until a specific number of them are collected. At that point, the zone rotates to a new area.
WHEN DOES NEW CALL OF DUTY WARZONE UPDATE COME OUT?
The new Vanguard update will arrive on December 15 at 9 PM PT, followed by an update to Warzone Pacific on December 16 at 9PM PT.
For gamers in the UK, this will mean the new Vanguard and Warzone updates launching at 5am GMT on December 16 and 5am GMT on December 17, and this is also when the Festive Fervor event starts.
A message from Activision explains: “Festive Fervor will officially start on December 16 across Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, following an update to Vanguard on December 15 at 9 PM PT, and an update to Warzone Pacific on December 16 at 9PM PT.
“Call of Duty will already be in the holiday spirit with 12 Festive Days of Deals starting on December 14 in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Pacific, as well as within a new season of Call of Duty: Mobile to be announced on December 13.”
Other incentives will also be available to Vanguard gamers, including a 10 Battle Pass Tier Skips for Season One.
These are enough to automatically unlock a free Calling Card and 100 COD Points, or even more rewards if the Season One Battle Pass is purchased.
