Blake Kelley from Hallmark’s “Finding Mr. Christmas” opened up to #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his latest endeavors.
Most recently, Kelley was a part of a FYC event in Austin, Texas, for Hallmark’s “Finding Mr. Christmas.” “It was amazing! It was very good to see all those people again and just revisit the memories and plans for the future. Also, our show has a chance for an Emmy nomination, which is awesome.”
“It was great to reunite with Jonathan Bennett, Melissa Peterman, Jonathan Wells, and Ben Roy, the creator of the show.”
On the lessons learned from the “Finding Mr. Christmas” journey, he stated, “It taught me that being vulnerable is not a bad thing. Actually, it can almost be like a superpower, and it can help you out.”
“Also, it taught me that I have a lot more potential than just being an ex-athlete. My whole adult life, I played college football, and that was the biggest feat I had ever done. This show taught me that there is more to me than just playing sports and that I have so much more to offer,” he elaborated.
“My goal is to help make people’s days better. If I am able to accomplish that, then I am doing my service,” he added.
In his spare time, he enjoys being a dog-dad to Deacon.

Advice for hopefuls that wish to go on reality TV
For hopefuls that wish to go into reality TV (and “Finding Mr. Christmas”), he encouraged them to just “be themselves.”
“If you go on reality TV, and they picked you, it’s because the producers see something in you,” he noted. “Don’t overthink it and become a different person once you get on the show. Just lean into yourself and become confident in who you are.”
Kelley thanks his Hallmark fans
For his dedicated fans, Kelley expressed, “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I get so many messages on Instagram from fans checking in on me and congratulating me, and I try to get back to all of them. It was such a pleasure to be on Hallmark’s first reality show; I feel that we did something special. We also touched a lot of people, and that makes me feel happy and very welcomed.”
“It makes me feel validated and that I am on the right path,” he concluded.
