Grammy and Tony-nominated artist Deborah Cox chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos on the red carpet of the 2026 Angel Ball GALA, which was held on October 19th at Cipriani Wall Street.
Cox served as emcee for the evening and took the stage for a noteworthy performance of Whitney Houston’s “The Greatest Love Of All.”

On hosting and performing at the Angel Ball, Cox remarked, “It is really an honor to be here! I am emceeing tonight, and I am thrilled to be reconnecting with Denise Rich and all the honorees. It is always wonderful to attend the Angel Ball because it’s a testament to the promise that Denise made to her daughter, which is to help find a cure, and that is what the foundation has been doing.”
“From tonight’s event, I want people to be uplifted and to feel hopeful, and I want them to feel joy,” she noted. “I want them to feel like we are making strides in finding a cure and finding results.”
Stage of her life
On the title of the current chapter of her life, she revealed, “Chapter 3.” “This is my ‘Renaissance’ chapter,” she admitted.
‘Titanique’
Cox recalled her time starring in the multi-Tony-nominated musical “Titanique” on Broadway. “I love Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli,” she exclaimed. “They are so great! We had a wonderful time and an incredible run on Broadway with ‘Titanique’. This was my fifth show, and it was so special.”
“So, it was a full-circle moment for me doing all Celine Dion music because I sang background vocals for Celine in my early years. I was very proud of that show,” Cox added.
Success
Regarding her definition of the word success, Cox said, “Success is when you are happy… whatever that is!”
