Destiny 2 Xur location today: Where is Xur this week? What is he selling?

Where Xur is and what he is selling in Destiny are two questions that will be answered today at 5pm GMT.

While not explaining why things have started an hour earlier, Guardians will now find The Agent of the Nine back in the mix a little earlier than usual.

And this will be the last time Xur jumps into the game before the big Anniversary Update arrives on December 7.

Bungie has not shared any plans to change how Xur functions, meaning that you will still be able to buy exotics from him next week.

However, big changes are coming to other parts of the game, including in the way some armour options will function in-game.

Bungie is planning to remove the Glimmer requirement for certain features, which should free more up for spending on items from Xur.

A message from Bungie explains: “Kicking off our list of QOL updates (otherwise known as Quality of Life), the team has been working on a change that many of you have been asking about for a while. Have you ever been tinkering with your armour mods and thinking, “Well, this is taking quite a bit of Glimmer” or even running out in the process? Well, starting on December 7, this will no longer be an issue.

“Starting next week, you can swap out your armour mods instantaneously, at any time, with no Glimmer or currency required. The goal of the team is to better enable build crafting on the fly, whether you be loading into a PvP match or prepping for a Nightfall.

“We’ve also seized this opportunity to make “free and reversible” socket actions available to all 3rd party Destiny 2 apps starting on December 7. So, in addition to equipping gear and transferring items to/from the Vault, your favourite D2 apps will be able to apply Armor 2.0 mods, weapon perks, shaders, ornaments, and ghost projections on your behalf.”

Plenty of new exotic weapons and legendary armour pieces will be available to check out when the elusive merchant makes his return later today.

Bungie will not reveal his final location, instead, Guardians will need to scope out all of his normal haunts, including the EDZ, The Tower and Nessus.

A full report of what new exotics are available to buy will be shared within a few minutes of his return.

For those who are new to Destiny, the Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to improve gear or trade for other stuff.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items similar in power level to your character. And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last week included completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.
