Fitness coach and influencer Ely Cohen chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his new GainsFit app.

Congrats On Our New GainsFit App, how Has That Been For You?

Honestly, it has been chaos in the best way. Exciting, stressful, but very rewarding. I’ve wanted this for a long time, so seeing real people use it and message me that they Love it hits different. At the same time, I’m obsessed with making it cleaner, faster, and better every week.It feels like the start, not the finish.

What inspired the idea and concept for this app?

I kept seeing the same problem: people had motivation, but no system. They would bounce between workouts, random nutrition advice, and trendy nonsense, then blame themselves when it didn’t stick. I wanted one place that tells you exactly what to do, how to progress, and how to stay consistent without overthinking. Simple structure.

What motivates you each day as a fitness coach and influencer?

Two things. First, my own standard. I’m not built to live average. Training is my non negotiable, and I like earning my confidence the hard way. Second, responsibility. I want to provide for my family and build something real with my name on it.

How does it feel to be a part of the digital age?

It’s powerful and dangerous. The upside is you can impact people worldwide from your phone. The downside is everyone has an opinion and half of them have no idea what they’re talking about. I try to use the internet like a tool, not a lifestyle.

Are there any New Year’s resolutions for 2026?

I’m doubling down on consistency, tighter execution, and shipping improvements fast. Personally: stay strong, stay lean, and keep leveling up my calisthenics. Business: build GAINS into something that potentially will help millions.

What do your plans for the future include?

Making GAINS the go to system for serious people who want results without confusion.
More programs inside the app, better onboarding, better tracking, and more coaching support for the people who want higher touch. I also want to build a real team and a real machine behind it, so it grows without losing quality.

What is the greatest lesson that the fitness industry has taught you?

Most people don’t fail because they lack knowledge. They fail because they lack consistency.
The “secret” is boring: progressive training, basic nutrition, sleep, and patience. The industry sells magic. Results come from standards.

What is your advice for hopefuls that wish to start their fitness journey in 2026?

Stop trying to do everything. Pick a simple plan you can repeat for 8 to 12 weeks. Train 3 to 5 days a week. Eat enough protein.
Walk every day.

Were there any moments in your life or career that have helped define you?

Building an audience showed me something important: attention is easy to get, trust is hard to earn. The app is my way of earning trust at a deeper level, because it has to work when nobody’s watching.

What does the word success meant to you?

Peace and power. Peace because your bills are handled and your family is covered. Power because you have control over your time, your body, and your choices. Success is being the guy who does what he says he’s going to do, for years, not weeks.
