Fortnite downtime: Epic shutting down servers for Fortnite on PS5 and Xbox Series X

Fortnite downtime has been announced for across all platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and PC. The good news is that all of this is being done to prepare for the game’s launch on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Epic Games has confirmed that they will be upgraded versions of the game, making them fully-fledged next-gen titles. And that will be good news to gamers who will be wanting something new to play on their consoles in November.

HOW LONG ARE FORTNITE SERVERS SHUTTING DOWN?

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite servers are shutting down at around 9am GMT, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The official server site suggests that Fortnite servers could be offline for up to three hours, but there’s a good chance that downtime will end before midday.

Patch notes for today’s update could be shared soon after by Epic Games, although there’s no guarantee when this might happen, or how much information will be included.

It should also be noted that server disruption is possible heading into maintenance, meaning you may see your character booted from live games up to 15 minutes before downtime starts.

Epic Games has already confirmed that today’s patch is part of Fortnite’s launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
