Fortnite update 3.21 is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
The surprise new Fortnite update launches just a couple of days after update 17.10, which is the first major patch of Season 7.
The download weighs in at around 468MB on PlayStation devices, so it shouldn’t take long to download.
Likewise, there’s no server downtime required for the new update, so you can start playing the moment it’s installed.
The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside the Fortnite patch notes for the latest release.
“We are deploying a maintenance patch on PC, PlayStation consoles and Xbox consoles to address stability issues on Xbox One and to fix the Combat Pro control layout issues,” reads an Epic post.
“We will let you know when the update is available on Nintendo Switch.”
As Epic points out, the latest Fortnite update will come to Nintendo Switch at a later date, probably within the next 24-hours.
According to Epic Games, the new update also addresses stability issues on Xbox One, specifically during the startup screen and loading into a match.
“We are investigating stability issues on Xbox One, such as crashes on startup or when loading into a match.
“These issues have been solved with our latest maintenance patch on Xbox One.”
As for the previous Fortnite download, update 17.10 introduced Alien Parasites to the game, as well as the Cosmic Summer event.
Alien Parasites provide interesting new gameplay opportunities, attaching to players and providing mobility boosts.
The Parasites will, however, take away some health, and detach when they come into contact with fire and water.
Elsewhere, the Recon Scanner marking duration has been reduced from 15 seconds to ten seconds, and takes longer to recharge.
Players can also be abducted by an alien Mothership, which deploy UFOs that transport players into the inside of the ship.
Elsewhere, Epic Games has added in countless new challenges, including Cosmic Summer tasks that provide fans with fresh new skins.
