The Galaxy S22 Ultra is the latest all-singing, all-dancing handset from Samsung. Announced at the start of the month, the Galaxy S22 Ultra arrives with an expansive 6.8-inch QHD+ touchscreen, a quad-camera with a 100x zoom, and the return of the S Pen. This clever stylus – previously the trademark of the Galaxy Note series – is now included inside the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Like the Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a small compartment to house and recharge the stylus. The S Pen can be used to annotate documents, draw and doodle, make handwritten notes, and more. Samsung has worked hard to reduce the latency of the S Pen to ensure that it feels closer to a real pen on paper.
Galaxy S22 Ultra arrives with a 120Hz high refresh-rate AMOLED screen, which ensures that system animations and scrolling feels incredibly smooth. But better than that, Samsung’s clever screen can be boost its sampling rate to 240Hz in certain instances, which should make a gunning down opponents in Fortnite or Call Of Duty feel more fluid than on any other handset.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra doesn’t go on sale until February 25, 2022. However, Samsung has launched a number of incredible pre-order deals. Anyone who buys the Galaxy S22 Ultra ahead of its launch will get a free pair of Galaxy Buds Pro and a 12-month subscription to Disney+. Given that Galaxy Buds Pro cost £219 from the Samsung Store and an annual subscription to Disney+ will set you back £79.90, this is a pretty generous bundle of freebies.
At £1,149, buying the Galaxy S22 Ultra SIM-free isn’t exactly cheap. Thankfully, Samsung has a brilliant option available to help with this.
Samsung’s Upgrade Programme lets you divide the cost of the handset over two years. There’s no interest applied, so you won’t be penalised for spreading the cost of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in monthly payments. All you’ll need to do is pay 10 percent of the total cost upfront, which equates to £114.90 for the entry-level Galaxy S22 Ultra, which comes with 128GB of built-in storage and 8GB of RAM.
Opting for the Upgrade Programme, Samsung will throw-in a free case for your new Galaxy S22 Ultra. And you’ll qualify for half price Samsung Care+, which protects your device from accidental liquid and screen damage up to two years.
When the next flagship smartphone is announced by Samsung, likely to be around the same time next year, you’ll be able to switch from the Galaxy S22 Ultra to whatever comes next at no extra cost. Upgrading to the next best thing means you’ll start a new monthly payment plan with the new handset. To completely own your smartphone, you’ll just need to complete the remaining 23 months.
Better yet, you can still get a discount of up to £570 when you trade in an old smartphone. So, you can secure the hefty discount and spread the remaining cost over two years, with the option to upgrade to the latest-and-greatest handset from Samsung this time next year. Oh, and you’ll still get a free subscription to Disney+, a free pair of Galaxy Buds Pro worth £219 and a free case. What a bonanza!
