“So the blood clots could have been caused because the vaccine had not kicked in because some of them were a couple of weeks after the vaccine before it had taken effect?”
“Absolutely,” Dr Ranj replied. “We’d expect 200 people every week to have blood clot-related issues regardless of whether they’ve been vaccinated.”
Professor Kampmann added: “Absolutely and also the age group in which these clots were reported might have coincided with the age group of the people who have been vaccinated so the risk of clotting is not universal through society it depends on risk factors.
“It’s totally conceivable that people were incubating Covid so to say when they were getting the vaccine they weren’t yet detected because we know a couple of weeks or so to get the full antibody levels.”
