Matt Hudson chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about being a part of the Chippendales family, performing at The Paramount, and getting ready to embark on their 2025 European Tour.

Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote applies to Matt Hudson.

‘All Night Long’ Tour

On being a part of the Chippendales “All Night Long” Tour, he said, “So far, it has been honestly incredible. It’s my first tour with Chippendales, so getting to see the crowds and meet the fans who come back to see it time and time again has been a lot of fun.”

“We are going to cities that I’ve never heard of, and 2,000 people are showing up, so it’s a lot of fun,” he admitted.

The Paramount

This past April, the Chippendales performed at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island for a good turnout.

On performing at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island, he exclaimed, “It was incredible. That was honestly the coolest venue that we have ever played at. I really loved it!”

“Great people and a great audience and it was just a great all-around experience,” he added.

2025 European Tour

On the 2025 European Tour, he shared, “We are leaving on Saturday for the European Tour, and I am really looking forward to it.”

“Honestly, you’re going to hit a lot of big cities and it’s just a lot of cool experiences. I’ve talked to some of the other guys who’ve toured before, and they have nothing but good things to say, so I’m excited to get out there with the guys,” he elaborated.

Greatest lesson that performing has taught him

On the greatest lesson that performing has taught him, he responded, “It has taught me to just step out of my shell. I’m a very introverted person, and you can’t be that on stage, so you’ve just got to step up and if you want to be a performer, that’s part of it.”

“So, it has taught me how to step out of my shell, I think, more than anything,” he added.

Working with Adam Barabas

On working with Adam Barabas, Hudson exclaimed, “Adam is the best. Adam is one of those guys that lights up the room. He always has your back and he always has good energy. So, Adam is just great!”

Future plans

Regarding his future plans, Hudson shared, “I want to stick with Chippendale. I’ve been with Chippendale for the past six months, so I want to be there a couple of years, do a couple tours, really enjoy it, and hopefully get into a little more acting. “

“I’ve dabbled with acting in the past, and I really want to pour into that a little bit more,” he added.

The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, at a time when streaming and social media are so prevalent, Hudson said, “It has taken a lot of adjustment. You need to focus on it more than you would like to, but I enjoy it.”

“I enjoy interacting because you can connect with people around the world, which is incredible,” he acknowledged.

“You just have to figure out how to best present yourself and what is going to best connect with people. So, I like it, though,” he added.

Advice for young and emerging artists

For young and aspiring artists, Hudson said, “Gosh, any time that I have a chance to teach or anything like that, I just say ‘be open to anything.’ If you’re like, ‘oh, I’m just a dancer,’ well, you’re limiting yourself from a lot of other things.”

“I’ve done things where I danced, I’ve done some stunt work, walked stilts, acted, and I’ve played music,” he noted.

“Just be open to learning and growing. As an artist, you’re not just one thing,” he added.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “Renaissance.”

“I think I’m really finding myself and I’m kind of re-emerging,” he said. “This is my renaissance.”

Superpower of choice

His superpower of choice would be “shapeshifting.” “I could look however I want, and I could shapeshift to whoever or whatever I want to be,” he said.

Success

On his definition of success, Hudson said, “For me, success has always been just being happy.”

“That means being happy with your life, being happy with the people around you, and happy with what you’re doing for a living. Obviously, you can find success in money as well, and it’s nice when they go hand in hand,” he elaborated.

“All in all, for me, success is just happiness, and the peace of mind that comes with it,” he added.

Closing thoughts for his fans and supporters

For his fans and supporters, Hudson expressed, “I just want to say ‘thank you’ to them. It has been crazy! I’ve been a performer for 17 years now, but I’m just getting started with Chippendales.”

“I’m happy for anybody who has been supporting me over there now. Thank you. Keep supporting me. It doesn’t go unnoticed. I love you all,” he said, effusively.
