Jake Schum (Hallmark’s “Finding Mr. Christmas”) opened up about the importance of Father’s Day. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
“Family is where life begins, love never ends, and our greatest strengths is found.” This quote applies to Jake Schum and his family.
‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ reunion
On being a part of the “Finding Mr. Christmas” reunion, he said, “That was pretty fun, especially since I finally got to see everybody. When you leave the show originally after you’re eliminated, it is a quick goodbye and you go on your way. Then, you don’t really hear much from anyone, and after a couple of months, then everybody is back together again… it’s just like we never left.”
“So, seeing all those guys and being able to talk about the show itself and being on stage there and going over everything and just having a bunch of those laughs was great. I loved that camaraderie, being with those guys again and sharing those special memories. It was really great and fun to see everybody,” he elaborated.
Cameo in ‘Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story’
On his cameo in the Hallmark movie “Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story,” he said, “Making a cameo in that film was not what I expected in 2025, but it happened and the fact that it was in Buffalo was something that really meant a lot to me.”
“Growing up as a Bills fan, and now being a part of this movie, was really cool, especially to have a little part in that. Just to be part of that process and again getting to meet the people behind the scenes and everything, was just really special, as well as meeting everyone who was involved with it,” he elaborated.
Partnership with Centric
For Schum, his partnership with Centric is very family-oriented. “Originally, they sent me something just to try it, and I gave it a try. Not only is their clothing of great quality but also the people behind the scenes with Centric were incredible,” he said.
“Centric has been that one company that really grew, and as they are helping me crow, I am helping them grow as well. Now, we’ve just became one really big family, we are really close, and they really mean a lot to me,” he acknowledged.
“I love the people behind them, and I want to help them as much as they want to help me, and I think it really shows with our content and everything, and that’s really what it’s all about. It’s not just their great products, but the people behind the brand,” he exclaimed.
Father’s Day significance
On the significance of Father’s Day, he shared, “Growing up, I was also shooting to play in the NFL, and I always thought that was going to define who I was, but becoming a dad totally changed everything for me… it really opened my eyes to what truly is important in life.”
“Spending these moments with my family day in and day out, the ups and the downs. At the end of the day, you just want to be with them. Just showing up and seeing the smiles on my family’s faces is just priceless. That has been really meaningful to me, and I get to experience so much more love in my life,” he explained.
Speaking of Father’s Day, in his personal life, he and his wife are expected their second baby (on the way)… so congratulations are in order to the Schum family!
Message for his fans
For his fans, Schum expressed, “To all the fans out there, I would tell them that whether it’s something really small, big, dream, goals, whatever it is, just take a chance and go for it. I know it sounds cliché to chase your dreams and all that, but truly, you have one life and you’ve got to take the opportunities that are given to you or just try something new.”
“You never know what doors are going to open and that’s something that I’ve really worked hard in my life to try to improve… to take advantage of opportunities that may or may not be there,” he noted.
“Just put yourselves out there, and you never know what’s going to come from it. So, I think it’s just that classic work hard towards something, no matter how big or small, and just go after anything. You just never know who you’ll meet,” he concluded.
