International recording artist Janet Leon is launching an exciting new creative venture with OWJI, a powerful project already hailed as one of the most anticipated releases of the year. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
With her first single from OWJI dropping this summer, Janet is proving that her artistry continues to evolve — all while actively touring worldwide with global pop icon Arash.
A Global Stage: Touring with Arash Since 2022
Since 2022, Janet has been a featured artist on Arash’s international tour, using her voice not just to entertain but to uplift and inspire. Her most recent appearance, on April 26, 2025, at the prestigious Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, drew a packed crowd and widespread acclaim, cementing her as a key force in the show’s dynamic success.

From Teenage Pop Star to Powerhouse
Janet first stepped into the spotlight at age 13 when she joined the chart-topping Swedish girl group Play — a group co-managed at the time by Matthew Knowles, the legendary music executive and father of Beyoncé. With Play, Janet toured internationally and gained early experience performing for massive audiences. She went on to launch a successful solo career with hits like “Let Go”, “Heartache on the Dancefloor,” and “New Colours,” the latter selected as the official anthem of Stockholm Pride in 2013.
In addition to her being in the spotlight she’s been behind songs, and collaborated with Grammy winning artists such as Jhene Aiko, Sabrina Carpenter, and Aloe Blacc.
Introducing OWJI: A New Artistic Chapter
OWJI is not a rebrand — it’s an evolution that allows Janet to explore a more raw, experimental, and emotionally grounded sound. Through OWJI, she embraces her cultural roots and artistic independence with full creative control. The debut single, arriving this summer, is already generating major buzz across the industry.
Looking Ahead
As she balances an international tour and the rollout of OWJI, Janet Leon is proving herself to be a multifaceted artist with the vision and versatility to shape the future of pop and alternative music. Her ability to evolve while staying true to her core message of empowerment makes her one of the most compelling voices of her generation.
