Bryce Bussard chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about representing Missouri in the 2025 Mister USA competition.
Mister USA pageant
Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants.
On repping the state of Missouri, he said, “It feels great. I am very excited for it.”
“Missouri was where I was born and raised. I went there all the way through high school. Then, I came down to Florida and studied at the Florida Golf Course University; that is what brought me down here,” he elaborated.
Daily motivations
Regarding his daily motivations, Bussard said, “Just getting up and trying to get better every single day, honestly. I’ve always been a very motivated person. Growing up, I was a basketball player and my father was a college basketball player, and he pushed me to get better each day. I just translated that into real life, and I keep pushing to be the best person that I can be.”
Advocacy for this year’s Mister USA
On his advocacy for Mister USA, Bussard remarked, “I am going to raise awareness by doing something that is out of my comfort zone. I’ve never done like this before. Growing up, I am a shy and introverted kid, so hopefully, by doing this, I can inspire other people to do things out of their comfort zone.”
Bussard on why he should win Mister USA
When asked why he should win Mister USA, he responded, “Just because I try to represent myself as authentic in the way of being the best man I can be to my friends and family and people who support me through my business and social media. Life isn’t the easiest thing to do, so I try to lead by example.”
“I try to keep trucking forward and I try to grow in every aspect of my life by trying to be the best person I can be,” he added.
Future plans
On his future plans, Bussard shared, “I have a home exterior service business, the Handy Hunk Services, we do power washing, roof cleaning, window cleaning, gutters, and all those things. “My plan going into the future is to build that up year by year,” he said. “We want to franchise the business all over the state of Florida in hopes to go all over the country.”
“I plan to stay in Florida, and just continue to grind and grow my business,” he added.
Success
Regarding his definition of success, he said, “Success means having loving people around me that support me. Getting up every day and progressing in relationships, business, and financials. Also, being a leader who look up to me currently, and people who are going to look up to me in the future.”
Closing thoughts
For his supporters, Bussard expressed, “My goal is to inspire other people to get up each day and be the best version of themselves.”
“Just try to be your true, authentic selves, and just be a good human at the end of the day and be a good person to the people around you,” he concluded.
