Mr Gove said: “Well, one of the things you have now is an opportunity to ask me questions about the deal and of course, we’ll have a debate in the House of Commons.”
The guest went on to remark how MPs would have been reading the deal “alongside their Christmas turkey” and insisted the mood of those he had heard from was that this is a “good deal.”
“But of course we’re more than happy to answer any specific questions about aspects of it,” Mr Gove continued, encouraging members of the public to also ask questions.
Asked by the host why Parliament hadn’t been given two days, the guest insisted: “We’re having full scrutiny in the sense of the extended parliamentary day.
“But again, we’ve been debating Brexit for a long time now and I think most Members of Parliament understand the clear instruction given by the general election which was to get it [Brexit] done.”
