Emmy award-winning actor and producer Mike Manning (“The Bay”) has joined forces with Legacy Youth Leadership, in an effort to help the rainforest. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.

On Friday, April 28th, Manning participated in a virtual fan event for Spectrum Celebrity Events, where he was joined by an intimate group of fans. A portion of the proceeds benefits True Colors United. Tony Moore of “Dishin’ Days” served as the emcee of this Zoom fan event.

Manning opened up about being a part of Legacy Youth Leadership. “People can still pledge, it costs nothing. They are doing a pledge where people can pledge to reduce their carbon footprint in one of three ways. The first way is to drive less, the second way is to take shorter showers, use less water and electricity, and the third one is not to eat meat for the week,” he said.

“For everybody that does it, Legacy Youth Leadership is donating to preserving a piece of rainforest in Peru, so not only are you reducing your carbon footprint, but you are helping to preserve this section of Peru that has plants that are good at taking carbon out of the air, so you are having a double impact. If you have five minutes, I would love for you to pledge,” Manning added.
