Bookmakers Betfair have revealed the comedy series is favourite to be the third most watched show being the Queen’s Speech and Call the Midwife.

Spokesman Sam Rosbottom said: “Her Majesty usually draws a winning audience regardless, but after such a difficult year, it stands to reason that millions will tune in to be cheered by the Queen’s message of hope for 2021, which is why she’s one of the shortest favourites in years at 8/13 for the most watched Christmas programme.

“However, the immensely popular Call the Midwife at 15/8 isn’t too far behind Queen Elizabeth.

“Watch out for dark horse in the form of the Strictly Christmas Special, with some of the highlights of the show’s 20 years on air sure to charm viewers on Christmas Day when more television than ever before will be watched by the British public.”

Mrs Brown’s Boys: Mammy of the People airs Christmas Day at 10pm.
