Next James Bond: Tom Hardy and Henry Cavill 007 hopes threatened by DC Comics actor

The drama never stops in the ever-changing Bond odds. The vacuum Daniel Craig left after bowing out of the James Bond role following his final movie, No Time To Die, means anyone could claim the spot in the near future.

One of the favourites in the 007 fandom has been Tom Hardy after rumours hit that he had already been cast as the hero. But things are changing every day.

This week has seen Hardy’s odds stand firm, but everyone around him is slowly moving up on his position. Hardy has an incredible 6/1 to become Bond in the near future from Ladbrokes.

The official announcement of the next Bond actor will likely come within the next year, and Hardy has already confirmed he “won’t” discuss it – through fear of ruining his chances.

But his chance could already be slipping away from him. This week, an actor from the DC Comics universe has started making a move on Hardy’s strong third-place position.

Currently, Ladbrokes have placed Regé-Jean Page of Bridgerton fame at the top of the Bond odds. The Netflix hunk has an incredible 3/1 on becoming Bond after Craig’s step down.

However, he is also neck-and-neck with another DC Comics actor: Henry Cavill.

Cavill also currently has an impressive 3/1 on becoming the next international spy. While his odds are impressive, he has already been turned down for the role once before. He applied for the position back in 2005, pitting him against Craig. But instead, he was told he was looking “too fat” for the position.

Now, he might have something to prove.

James Bond No Time To Die is available on Digital, DVD and Blu-ray.
