In the letter, Andrew’s legal representatives said he has “never intended to malign Virginia’s character” and he “regrets his association” with disgraced financier Epstein.
Virginia made the civil claim against the Duke for damages in America claiming she was trafficked by his friend Epstein to have sex with the royal when she was 17 years old.
“It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years,” the letter read.
“Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.”
