PS5 pre-order news and PlayStation 5 UK stock latest for the weekend

While Sony has had to apologise regarding how the PS5 Pre-Order process began, fans are now waiting for the next stock update. In the UK, the most recent re-stocking at places like GAME, Amazon and Argos has already been burnt through in lightening fashion. Many leading sites broke under the pressure of gamers trying to secure their own PlayStation 5 pre order on Friday.

But the latest news from GAME and Argos is that there is no more PS5 stock to be had and it seems doubtful that another update will be shared this weekend.

GAME told fans: “We are now out of stock of the PlayStation 5! Watch this space for future PS5 news…

And ARGO followed suit, telling gamers on Friday: “Thanks to everyone who has visited us and placed a pre-order for PS5. All units are now sold and so pre-orders are closed for the time being. Please continue to visit us for any further updates!”

Amazon has already warned some successful PS5 pre order customers that they could face delays when the console’s release day rolls around.

The email from the online retail giant warns: “We’re contacting you about your order of PlayStation 5 to let you know in advance that you may not receive this item on the day it is released due to high demand.

“We’ll make every effort to get the item to you as soon as possible once released.”

This isn’t something new to gamers, who have probably had a game or two arrive after launch day.

But missing out on something as big as the PlayStation 5 launch is a little different and many will be hoping they don’t get a confirmation email closer to the date.

While further stock updates over the weekend seem very unlikely, Sony has confirmed that more changes to buy a PS5 will be made available before November.

This was confirmed in the official apology message from Sony, who told fans earlier this month:

“Let’s be honest: PS5 preorders could have been a lot smoother. We truly apologize for that.

“Over the next few days, we will release more PS5 consoles for preorder – retailers will share more details.

“And more PS5s will be available through the end of the year.”

While gamers will probably not get another chance to pre-order a PS5 today, it will be worth keeping an eye on the official PlayStation and retail channels to make sure you don’t miss out.

This means looking over retail social media feeds from the likes of Argos, Smyths Toys, Amazon and Game.co.uk.

For those that might have missed it, the PS5 has been given a November 12 release date in USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. Fans in the UK and rest of the world will have to wait until November 19 for the PS5 to launch.

The release date was announced with price and pre-order information during a recent PlayStation Showcase event.

The PlayStation 5 Showcase also gave fans a look at some upcoming new games for the console.

The event kicked off with a spectacular look at Final Fantasy 16, which is a PlayStation console exclusive – at least for a limited time.

A new Harry Potter spinoff game – titled Hogwarts Legacy – was also announced, while gameplay was shown for PS5 launch title Spider-Man Miles Morales.
