The 2025 Mister USA finals took place on August 30th at The Montalban Theater in Hollywood, California, and Daryn Alexander served as an exceptional host and emcee. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.
Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants.
Equally wonderful was his co-host, the bubbly actress Jamie Renée Smith (“The Nanny”) in her own right.
In addition, Loews Hollywood Hotel served as the host hotel, which made the experience uplifting for all involved (especially since it is located in the heart of Hollywood Blvd. and the Hollywood Walk of Fame).
Daryn Alexander made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Not only was he able to relate and resonate with this year’s contestants (as well as serve as their ultimate cheerleader), his presentation skills were able to impress the eight judges, and the audiences that were at The Montalban Theater and the ones that were tuning in from home.
The positive words of encouragement and pep talks he gave everyone on stage was food for thought for all. He handled himself with dignity, courtesy, and utmost professionalism, while exuding charm, charisma, wit, and perspicacity.
Watching Daryn Alexander serve as a host and emcee of Mister USA felt like watching “Access Hollywood” all over again, and he was the Mario Lopez equivalent!

Several of this year’s top international titleholder winners offered a parade of adulations about Daryn Alexander, and rightfully so.
Mister USA winner Mikey Chadwick (who will go on to represent the USA at Mister Universe) stated, “For Daryn, the leadership skills came naturally, he led our group through a prayer before our show, and he made us feel like we would win. He truly is a role model and an ideal representative for what Mister USA is as a man through and through.”
Mr. World USA Shane O’Brien remarked, “I feel blessed and honored to have spent a week with Daryn at Mister USA 2025. Throughout the week, I had the opportunity to see him be inclusive, funny, and try to mentor all of the candidates in our own unique ways. He was a leader who encouraged us and of course wasn’t afraid to poke some fun too. I wish him success on all of his future endeavors, I know he will shine!”
Mister International USA Dr. Evan Schrader expressed, “Daryn basically offered a master-class on how to be Mister USA while he oversaw events and production during the week. He was both a calming and inspirational presence for us as he coached us all week long. Hosting the finals night was honestly as big of a feat as competing! Nothing but love for the first Mr. World USA and what a great example for the organization!”
Mister Earth USA Hayden Greene stated, “I don’t think any of us would’ve been as comfortable and confident if it wasn’t for Daryn. I’m very thankful that I had Daryn in my ear constantly bringing me up and giving me so much confidence. He was a huge inspiration for us all and now a new brother for life.”
