Actors Jake Hobbs and Neela Jolene star in “The Princess with the Cursed Mark” on Vigloo. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.

The synopsis is: “The man who claims the first night of the woman with the cursed mark will gain the power to rule the underworld.” At the heart of this age-old legend stands Chloe (Neela Jolene).

After an unintended night with the rival mafia boss Don Leonardo (Jake Hobbs), she is cast out by her own family and enters a contract marriage with him; however, that night was only the beginning — a deeper secret still sleeps within Chloe.

Neela Jolene is bubbly and a revelation as Chloe, where she is not afraid to showcase her boldness and brevity (viewers can recall a young Jodie Sweetin of “Full House”). She has solid chemistry with her leading man Jake Hobbs, who is suave and smooth (reminiscent of a young Jude Law). It has elements of supernatural and fantasy but they are realistic, relatable, and not exaggerated.

Conclusion

Overall, “The Princess with the Cursed Mark” is a compelling new mini-series on Vigloo. The storyline is supernatural yet romantic and engaging. Jake Hobbs and Neela Jolene work well together, and they come across as natural performers. This vertical drama can easily be binged in one to two easy sittings. It is highly recommended and it garners two thumbs up.
