Soon, the band was being overshadowed by the success of its frontman, Sir Rod, whose solo efforts were doing well in the charts while the band was continuing to perform.
Eventually, this began to cause problems, and Ronnie Lane left the band in 1973, at which point the band had been regularly touring.
He was replaced by Tetsu Yamauchi, but by 1975 Ronnie Wood had begun working with The Rolling Stones, which caused further problems.
On December 27, 1975, the band formally announced they were splitting, with Sir Rod severing ties with the band and continuing his solo career.
