WARNING: SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME AHEAD. The latest Marvel movie has hit cinemas and is full of surprises and spoilers. But knowing the MCU, there’s always going to be some blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Easter egg moments for fans.
One pair of cameos came from the original Ant-Man Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas and Iron Man’s father Howard Stark, portrayer when older by John Slattery.
During the first act of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is shown coming to terms with his newfound fame.
After J Jonah Jameson leaked the truth of the superhero’s true identity, the teenager suddenly found himself a reluctant celebrity.
Attending Midtown School of Science and Technology, Peter has to discuss his college applications with his teachers who want to milk his stardom for all it’s worth.
Peter’s teachers are played by returning actors JB Smoove and Martin Starr as Julius Dell and Roger Harrington, who led the school trip in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Spider-Man walks up the stairs to meet them inside the school and behind him on the wall is a collage of famous scientists like Einstein.
But the eagle-eyed fan will also have been able to spot some of the MCU’s best-known boffins in Hank Pym and Howard Stark.
Iron Man’s dad famously founded Stark Industries after working on a number of government initiatives during the Second World War, including the Manhattan Project and Project Rebirth.
Pym had discovered that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been attempting to replicate his particles from the Ant-Man suit.
He tendered his resignation despite Stark pleading with him to stay, but Pym went into retirement.
Tragically, two years later, The Winter Soldier assassinated Tony’s parents, as revealed in Captain America: Civil War.
Having been blipped, Pym remains alive in the MCU and returns in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is released in cinemas on July 28, 2023.
