Their schemes eventually turned violent when the Beck brothers realised they needed to resort to desperate measures to be in on a chance of persuading John to relent his grip on the coveted ranch.
Midway through season two, the Becks’ hired hands bit off more than they could chew when they tried to go through John’s fearless daughter, Beth (Kelly Reilly).
Their vile aims came to a head in the season finale, which saw a distraught Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) search desperately for his kidnapped son, Tate (Brecken Merrill).
Thankfully, Tate was eventually retrieved, but fans were left questioning why the Beck brothers’ nigh impenetrable fortress was so much better protected when compared to the Yellowstone.
