The countdown to the annual Angel Ball officially began last night in New York City, where Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research hosted its high-energy Angel Ball Launch Party at Le Bar Penelope.
The upcoming black-tie gala is held each year to honor the memory of Denise Rich’s daughter, Gabrielle Rich Aouad, who passed away from acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) at age 27.
Songwriter Denise Rich and her daughters, Daniella Rich Kilstock and Ilon Rich Schachter, gathered alongside guests including Hilaria Baldwin, Melissa Gorga, Mia Rowe, Ross Pino, and Angel Ball honoree Nicola Verses among other longtime supporters of the Foundation. Attendees enjoyed canned cocktails provided by beverage sponsor Honky Dory.
Held on Monday, October 19th at Cipriani Wall Street, the Angel Ball will recognize singer, actress, and philanthropist Lynda Carter for her tireless devotion to philanthropy and her commitment to advancing awareness for blood cancer research; and six-time Grammy Winner and multi-platinum recording artist Dionne Warwick; and philanthropist and entrepreneur Nicola Verses.
Grammy and Tony-nominated performer Deborah Cox will serve as emcee for the evening, which promises an exciting live set from multi-Grammy Award-winning global reggae icon Shaggy, as well as special appearances by Star Jones, Dr. Stephen D. Nimer, and others.
