Brandon Zicker chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about representing Nevada in the 2025 Mister USA competition.
Mister USA pageant
Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants.
On competing for Mister USA, he said, “It’s exciting. It’s a very different experience for me. I’ve done modeling work as an actor but the whole pageant scene is so out of left field for me. It is exciting to try something new.”
Representing Nevada
On repping his home state of Nevada, he said, “I am born and raised in Las Vegas, so I had to be a part of that.”
Advocacy for Mister USA
Zicker opened up about his advocacy for Mister USA. “Male vulnerability is a very big thing that I believe in. I grew up almost entirely surrounded by strong women in my life,” he said. “I’ve spent most of my time with an adult woman who is showing me how to do things. I really believe in being vulnerable and being able to open up. In allowing yourself that vulnerability, that makes you stronger and more manly.”
Daily motivations
Regarding his daily motivations, he shared, “I am very curious about everything. I always want to try something different and I always want to learn something. He is a firm believer of the following quote: ‘be curious, not judgmental’. This way, you learn the intricacies of these different parts of life, and it makes you worldly.”
Future plans
On his future plans, he revealed, “I am in Los Angeles right now, fighting my way through fires and strikes. My biggest plan is to be able to express myself through my medium of art. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to do so thus far. I am fighting for having an opportunity in Los Angeles, which is having a struggle right now.”
“Las Vegas is now building itself up in the arts industry, and I really want to be a part of that new frontier of the arts in Las Vegas, and bringing back the fire in Los Angeles,” he added.
Stage of his life
Regarding the title of the current chapter of his life, Zicker disclosed, “Peace.”
“I’ve been so comfortable with myself lately,” he admitted. “I’ve really found contentment and nirvana, of sorts.”
Success
On his definition of the word success, Zicker stated, “Success is defined by the relationships that you have with the people around you. I don’t think money or anything like that defines success.”
“If you have loved ones around you that you really care about and they really care about you, then you are winning,” he concluded.
