Rowan Musick chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about representing Missouri in the 2025 Mr. America Global competition.
American author and speaker John C. Maxwell once said: “Dreams don’t work unless you do.” This quote applies to Rowan Musick, 24, who is a man of many talents: environmental engineer, model, and athlete.
Mr. America Global
The Mr. America Global competition is more than just a showcase of style and presence—it is a transformative experience designed to empower participants with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to excel both personally and professionally. It will be held in Washington, D.C. in late August of 2025.
On competing for Mr. America Global, Musick said, “It feels great. I grew up in Missouri and I was around pageantry as a kid, and I saw people go through it, so I feel really good to be at this stage.”
Advocacy for Mr. America Global
On his advocacy for Mr. America Global, he said, “I am an environmental engineer and I’ve been an athlete my whole life, and I am currently a model. I am trying to represent myself in this pageantry.”
“For this pageant, I want to get across the concept that strength is not purely physical; it is impacts we live behind. It’s about living in a sustainable way and carrying ourselves in a way that transcends what you do in the moment,” he added.

Daily motivations
On his daily motivations, he said, “I am motivated by the fact that I won’t be here for a long period of time. Life is very short, and that’s a shocking realization. So, each day, I wake up and I try to live my life in a way that will win some victories for humanity.”
Future plans
On his future plans, Musick shared, “I am an environmental engineer and I’ve been doing that for the last couple of years, and I am actually looking at graduate school options right now when it comes to shifting my focus into sustainable energy practices and carbon capture, and I intend to continue doing that work and making the world a better place through my physical work.”
“I also have a passion for the modeling community. I love walking runways; I love doing photoshoots and I like promoting local fashion. I think it’s a really interesting way to produce art to show cultural aspects, so I hope to facilitate that moving forward.”
Why he should win Mr. America Global
When asked why he should win Mr. America Global, Musick responded, “I feel I should win because I have a lot of passion for it and I am willing to put n the effort and the time to represent a good message. I don’t just see the values, I’ve been living them for years, especially the physical and the leadership aspects of it.”
Musick truly practices what he preaches. “This my second large pageant that I’ve ever done,” he admitted. “I was just being myself and that was enough to get me in the Top 11 on the international stage, and it was great.”
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “Ambitiously growing.”
“I think that describes what I intend to do in my 20s,” he said. “I’ve set lofty goals for myself and I intend to achieve them, and I working towards them as best as I can.”
Success
On his definition, Musick disclosed, “winning some victories for humanity before my time is over.”
“I seek to leave an impact and a meaningful change towards the greater good,” he said.

Closing thoughts on Mr. America Global
Musick remarked, “I think a lot of people don’t like to represent themselves as themselves because they have some fear complex built up about who they are.”
“I know the concept of imposter syndrome is really popular lately. There is no reason to feel that way. If you are just yourself that’s the most endearing quality in any group,” Musick concluded.
American track and field running legend Steve Prefontaine once said: “To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.” Rowan Musick embodies this wise quote.
