The Financial District is about to welcome a bold new addition to its dining scene: Bueno Restaurant & Bar, opening soon at 25 Broad Street. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

Blending flavors from across Latin America with a modern New York sensibility, Bueno aims to deliver an experience that is equal parts vibrant, refined, and inviting.

Though the driving force behind Bueno prefers to remain behind the scenes, they shared with us their inspiration and vision for this highly anticipated opening.

A Concept Rooted in Latin Culture

When asked what inspired Bueno, the owner described it as “a love letter to Latin America.” The menu reflects a journey across the continent — from Peruvian ceviches and tiraditos to Argentinian steak asado and Spanish Paella.

“We wanted to bring together the diversity of Latin cuisines under one roof,” they explained. “New York is a city that thrives on cultural mash-ups, and Latin food is perfect for that balance of tradition and innovation.”

The Menu: Tradition Meets Innovation

Bueno’s menu offers a wide spectrum: comforting street classics like Steak Anticuchos and empanadas, alongside creative plates such as Chilean Sea Bass Tacos, Ahi Tuna Tostada, and Lobster Guacamole.

Balancing authenticity with innovation was a deliberate choice. “We honor the classics but aren’t afraid to reimagine them,” the owner noted. “Dishes like Lomo Saltado or Pollo a la Brasa are made traditionally, while others showcase a playful, New York twist. The goal is to surprise without losing the soul of the cuisine.”

Vegetarian options, such as Cauliflower Asado and Hearts of Palm Ceviche, ensure inclusivity. “Latin food is inherently diverse,” they said. “We wanted Bueno to feel welcoming to everyone, whether you’re a steak lover or a plant-based diner.”

The Bar: A Centerpiece of the Experience

As its name suggests, the bar is just as important as the kitchen. Bueno’s beverage program leans heavily into Latin spirits, with a strong emphasis on Tequila and Margarita-forward creations. Guests can also expect cocktails highlighting pisco, mezcal, rum, and cachaça, blending refreshing citrus-forward profiles with smoky, bold flavors designed to complement the food.

“Our bar is meant to be a destination in itself,” the owner explained. “We want it to feel vibrant and approachable, with a margarita culture at the forefront of the experience.”

FiDi’s Next Destination

The decision to open in the Financial District was strategic. “FiDi is evolving,” they said. “It’s not just finance, it’s nightlife, it’s residential, it’s cultural. We wanted Bueno to become a place where people can start with dinner and stay for the energy of the night.”

The space has been designed to reflect that dual purpose. “We envisioned a setting where you could come for a romantic dinner but also feel comfortable bringing a group of friends to celebrate. The atmosphere will be lively but elevated, with music and design that honor Latin vibrancy.”

Looking Ahead

While Bueno is set to open its doors in the coming weeks, the vision extends beyond one restaurant. “We see this as a flagship concept,” the owner hinted. “It’s about building a brand that represents quality Latin fusion in New York, and maybe beyond.”

For now, all eyes are on 25 Broad Street, where FiDi’s newest restaurant promises to transport guests across Latin America, one plate and one cocktail at a time.
