Global pop music megastar Lady Gaga headlined Madison Square Garden on March 19th as part of her 2026 “Mayhem Ball” Tour, which was captivating from start to finish. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.

First Act

Lady Gaga began her show with an operatic “Bloody Mary” intro, and segued into the enthralling “Abracadabra,” where the venue erupted into a dance fest.

“Get your paws up,” she commanded the crowd and immediately broke into “Judas”… she had everyone jumping along with her as pyro canyons lit up the stage. The spitfire “Aura” interpolated “Scheiße,” which is this journalist’s personal favorite tune from her sophomore studio offering “Born This Way.”

“C’mon my hometown, you better turn it up,” she said. “Get your hands up… get on your feet… stand up! you better scream,” she shouted and green lights graced the stage during “Garden of Eden,” which was quite fitting and appropriate.

“Sing it,” she screamed and segued into her ubiquitous hit single “Poker Face,” and it faded out with a remix of “Abracadabra.”

Second Act

Gaga kicked off the second act with “Perfect Celebrity” and an extended version of “Disease.” Dressed in an elegant white down, she came on stage in crutches during “Paparazzi” and acted it out as if were watching her soaring music video. Then, she played a fun “LoveGame” with the crowd, and the infectious “Alejandro.” An added bonus was watching Gaga play guitar on “The Beast.”

Third Act

Act III featured the vivacious “Killah,” it was followed by “Zombieboy” and “”LoveDrug.” She followed it up with “Applause” and her breakthrough hit “Just Dance.”

Fourth Act

The fourth and final act of her show was by far the most elaborate one. After “Shadow of a Man” and “Kill for Love,” she once again displayed her multi-instrumentalist abilities on guitar with “Summerboy,” and continued with the compelling ode “Born This Way,” which is as relevant and timely ever.

She showcased her ability to hit the high notes in the power-ballad “Million Reasons” and equally noteworthy were “Shallow” and “Die with a Smile,” where her “Little Monsters” were her harmony singers and duet partners.

Gaga performed an acoustic piano-driven version of “The Edge of Glory,” which was refreshing, and equally superb was her signature song “Bad Romance.”

“Mother Monster” returned to the MSG stage for an encore performance of “How Bad Do U Want Me,” which was the song that everybody waited to hear from the “Mayhem” album, and she nailed it.

Conclusion

In summation, Lady Gaga’s headlining show at MSG was a true work of theatrical art. If Tony Awards were to be given for concerts, Lady Gaga would deserve one because she put her New York audience into one true musical experience. It garnered an A+ rating. Well done.

Kyle Pollak, fan and attendee, remarked, “The Mayhem Ball completely redefined what I think stadium tours should be. From the second it started, it was clear this was something else. This was theater. The choreography, costumes, and the use of staging and set design were at a level unlike anything I’d seen before. Every aspect of the show was intentional and breathtaking. I was on my feet and couldn’t be my ‘paws’ down. I loved every second and am still sad that I don’t get to see it again. Lady Gaga is, without question, the greatest live performer of our generation.”

Joe Germanotta, owner of Joanne Trattoria and Lady Gaga’s father remarked, “The concert was awesome… my daughter never lets me down… its her 20 year anniversary of performing. I was so happy to be there. I am looking forward to closing out the tour at The Garden in April!”
