Actor Scott Michael Foster chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in the new series” Paris is Always a Good Idea” on Hallmark.

The synopsis is: Career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin (Lacey Chabert) travels to Paris to secure a major donor and is shocked when her confident rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Foster) is sent to join her.

While in Paris, an unexpected and heartfelt message from her late mother — and a push from her father (Henry Czerny) and her sister (Rebecca Hanssen) — sends her on an unexpected journey to reconnect with the three past loves she once left behind in Europe. From the rolling hills of Ireland to the magic of Paris, and the sun-kissed vineyards of Spain, Chelsea retraces old footsteps and discovers that sometimes moving forward means first looking back.

The series premieres on Thursday, July 30th, with the first two episodes, followed by a new episode every Thursday through August 27th, exclusively on Hallmark+.

On playing his character, he said, “I liked so much about him! We got to shoot in Paris and Spain, eat plenty of steak frites, wander the streets of Paris at night, and even film on the Eiffel Tower. There was so much to love about the experience.”

On the lessons learned from the screenplay, he reflected, “I think, more than anything, it reinforced the importance of not being so constrained. You can’t control everything in life, and sometimes the best thing you can do is let things unfold naturally. It reminded me to embrace the moment, live life to the fullest, and trust the journey instead of trying to plan every detail.”

Regarding the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “New Beginnings.” “I’m getting married next week, so it really feels like the start of an exciting new chapter,” he admitted.

On his definition of success, he said, “Honestly, I feel like I’m living it. I’m incredibly grateful for everything that’s happened in my career. I was talking about this the other day—if my 18-year-old self, the guy who moved here in 2004 with big dreams and aspirations, could see where I am today, he’d be absolutely blown away. I try to remind myself that I’ve already achieved so much, and everything from here on out is a bonus. That perspective helps me stay grounded and grateful.”

For fans and viewers, he expressed, “I hope this inspires them to travel! There are so many beautiful places in the world to experience. We were lucky enough to explore some of them while making this series, and I hope it brings a little bit of Paris to audiences. I also hope it inspires people to go out and see it for themselves.”
