Aaron Smolinski and John Jacob Anderson have joined the “Detective Rose Thorne” crime series. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
Aaron Smolinski, known for his role as ‘Baby Superman’ in “Superman: The Movie” from 1978, and John Jacob Anderson (who played Shran the Ravager in “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2” have been cast in the new highly-anticipated crime thriller series “Detective Rose Thorne.”
It is based on the book series written by Dawn Kirby and R. Kyle Hannah, published by Jumpmaster Press.
The teleplay is written by R. Kyle Hannah, and the series is directed and produced by Jason Hough of Kord Enterprises.
Smolinski and Anderson join an ensemble cast that includes Sammy Morningstar (Chicago P.D., The Devil’s Dancers), Paul Wilson (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), Lynn Lowry (Shivers, The Crazies), Don Overstreet (Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Dead Man’s Wire), Caitlin McEachran (The Devil’s Dancers), and August Kyss (Onlyfangs).
Detective Rose Thorne follows a brilliant, but damaged, Savannah detective as she tracks a sadistic serial killer who leaves victims wrapped in custom rosepatterned sheets — a personal message aimed squarely at her.
The crime thriller series is slated to begin filming in October of this year in Savannah, Georgia.
Additional casting announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
