Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Richard Marx is praising country artist Justin Fabus for his dedication as Fabus prepares to release his new single, “Anywhere You Want To Go,” on October 23. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

The single is available to pre-save and pre-order through Justin’s website.

Co-written by Marx and Matt Scannell, frontman of Vertical Horizon, the single marks another milestone in Fabus’ career and continues a creative relationship with Marx, who has become a friend, collaborator, and mentor.

“Aside from talent, Justin has what I consider to be the absolute most important component to having a great career: complete dedication. His commitment to making music and performing should be an inspiration to all up-and-coming artists out there,” Marx said.

For Fabus, working with two artists he admires makes the collaboration especially meaningful.

“I couldn’t be more honored and excited to announce that my next single was written by my dear friend and legend, Richard Marx, and the insanely talented Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon. Richard has become somewhat of a mentor to me over the past years, and I’ve been a huge fan of Matt since the ‘Everything You Want’ album. So to say this is a full circle moment for me would be an understatement,” Fabus said.

The new release builds on Fabus and Marx’s previous collaboration, “Somebody Like You” from Fabus’ 2020 album, Shelter From The Storm. The album reached No. 25 on the iTunes Top 200 Country Albums chart.

“Richard has become an incredible friend and mentor over the past years. When you get the chance to work with one of your idols, it’s a dream come true. Not only is Richard one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time, he’s one of the most kindest people you’ll ever meet. I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done for me,” Fabus said.

Named Country Music Association Emerging Artist in 2017, Fabus has shared the stage with Trace Adkins, New Kids on the Block, Debbie Gibson and Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. His 2021 EP, The Aftermath, reached No. 2 on the iTunes Top 200 Country Albums chart.

Fabus continued building his international audience in 2025, performing to some of the largest crowds in London’s Lil’ Nashville history and releasing “Me and Bon Jovi,” which led to an invitation to perform at Jon Bon Jovi’s bar in Nashville.

After a serious health-related setback and months of depression in 2026 forced him to postpone a planned European tour until 2027, Fabus is focused on his return to music.

“I still have a lot of songs to write and shows to play,” Fabus said.
