Catching up with Jack Modrak: Mr. Arizona in the 2024 Mister USA

Jackson “Jack” Modrak chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his latest endeavors, which include repping Arizona in the 2024 Mister USA pageant.

Usher once said: “Strivers achieve what dreamers believe.” This quote applies to electrical engineer Jack Modrak.

Mister USA competition

Mister USA is an American male beauty competition, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants. The finals will be held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on August 31, 2024.

“I am beyond excited for Mister USA later this month,” he exclaimed. “It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase my skills, personality, and represent the great state of Arizona.”

Lessons learned from this journey

On the lessons learned from the Mister USA journey so far, he reflected, “This Mister USA journey has taught me a lot about myself.”

“It has taught me the importance of self-confidence, determination, and the ability to step out of my comfort zone. It has also shown me that with hard work and dedication, I can achieve anything I set my mind to,” he elaborated.

Being the sole licensed electrical engineer in the pageant

“Being one of the few engineers and only licensed engineer competing in this pageant is a unique experience,” he said. “It allows me to bring a different perspective and highlight the diverse talents and passions that engineers possess. I hope to inspire others in the engineering field to pursue their dreams and break stereotypes.”

Modrak on his love for Arizona

Modrak is drawn to Arizona for several reasons. “What I love most about the state of Arizona is its breathtaking natural beauty. You can’t beat an Arizona sunset,” he exclaimed.

For his supporters and followers, Modrak said, “To my fans, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your support.”

“Your encouragement and belief in me mean the world,” he expressed. “I am truly honored to have you by my side on this journey, and I promise to give it my all to represent Arizona with pride and grace.”

Modrak’s advocacy: STEM education

When asked what he would like to use Mister USA (as a platform for), Modrak responded, “As an advocate, I plan to use this platform to raise awareness about the importance of STEM education, and community involvement where it matters (public projects).” 

Best advice that Modrak has ever been given

Modrak revealed some of the best advice that he has ever bene given. “The best advice I’ve ever been given is to always believe in myself and never underestimate my capabilities,” he said.

“Confidence is key to achieving success, and with the right mindset, anything is possible even if it takes a few times,” he added.

Modrak’s love for electronic dance music

Aside from engineering, he expressed that he is a fan of electronic dance music (EDM) and that EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) is his favorite festival every year.

“The shows are breathtaking and the music you can feel is unmatched by other festivals. I always love going there; the people are so friendly, and everyone just has a great time,” he acknowledged.

Closing thoughts on Mister USA

Modrak remarked about the Mister USA pageant and competition, “I hope all the other guys do well and make their states as proud as I’m trying to make Arizona.”

“In the end, it’s not about who wins, but getting some causes known to a larger population and inspiring the young men in our communities to be the best they can,” he concluded.
