Veteran actor Buzz Lear sat down and chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about “The Vertical Buzz” at VertiCon in Culver City, California. This is a neat interviewing the interviewer segment.
On being a part of VertiCon, he exclaimed, It’s amazing. I love the entire atmosphere. I always say this about any Vertical event that I’ve ever been to, that when you’re at a Vertical event… the vibe, energy, passion, and just the camaraderie amongst everybody, and the sense of community is so strong. It’s just so great.”
“The feeling is the same here. You walk into that room, and everybody is elevated. Everybody feels good. Everybody has everybody’s back. So it’s a real fun feeling,” he added.
Origin of ‘The Vertical Buzz’ podcast
On the origin of “The Vertical Buzz” podcast, he shared, “It’s a long story… but I am also an actor as well. I’ve done 42 verticals. The first one I did was early back in 2023. I wanted to document this space because nobody was doing it, and nobody was dedicating to become a voice of what is going on within this community of people. So, that’s how the idea came out.”
“Then, I also decided and determined that I didn’t want to just do some small podcast in my home. I wanted to be in a real studio with full-on, almost TV capability shooting and that’s what we do. We decided to do it that way,” he noted.
“Here we are… seven months into it now, and it has been going very well. I feel everyone’s support and it has been great,” he added.
When asked if there is anyone he would like to have on his podcast that he hasn’t yet, Lear responded, “I’ve got a lot of these people that I have not had on yet that are about to come on. A lot of them that I’ve had on the show are here at VertiCon.”

For Buzz Lear, VertiCon means “community.” “That’s my definition of what VertiCon is,” he said. “This community is so organized and together, and is after the same thing. We have fun, enjoy what we watch, and we are entertained. It’s a great time.”
