Fashion model and content creator Erik Douhan chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his latest endeavors in the contemporary fashion and modeling industry.
John F. Kennedy once said: “Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.” An individual who has clear purpose and a strategic plan is Erik Douhan.
The digital age
On being a model and influencer in the digital age, Erik said, “It’s just crazy… All of this has been just crazy!”
“My modeling debut was back in 2025, so it has been a crazy run,” he admitted. “I am so blessed to have been able to do the things I’ve done over the past year, and that just baffles me.”
Daily motivations
Regarding his daily motivations, he shared, “I am motivated by just basically trying to better myself each day. I am always trying to improve myself.”
“Ever since I started working out, that is something that I’ve applied to every aspect in my life… just getting better, always improving and never settling, for sure,” he added.
Future plans
On his future plans, he remarked, “I plan to keep modeling and see where this takes me. I just want to give it my best and everything I’ve got.”
“I also want to be able to start my own business probably in the lines of fitness, where I can help people and also be a creative, and work in a creative aspect,” he noted.
“I want to be able to share my vision, and just keep creating things for people to enjoy, and just be able to tell my story,” he added.
Advice for hopefuls who wish to go into modeling or content creation
For hopefuls that wish to go into modeling or content creation, Erik encouraged them to be their “true, authentic selves.”
“I’ve seen the most growth just being my own self,” he noted. “So, be who you are, always be kind, greet people on set, and just ask for advice, connect and network, for sure.”
“Also, just keep improving yourself on a regular basis,” he reiterated.
“I feel that if you put down the work, you could do whatever you want. You could be whoever you want. Just put in the work and the universe will pay you back for that work,” he explained.
Working with Ricardo Guerrero
Erik extolled his agent Ricardo Guerrero of Pretty Management. “Ricardo is amazing,” Erik exclaimed. “Ricardo is who got me into modeling, and it has been a crazy journey.”
“It is incredible to have any agent that actually goes above and beyond. Ricardo creates that relationship where you always feel like you’re in a safe space to talk and to be your true, authentic self.”
“So, I just love Ricardo! He is the best; he really took a chance on me and really got me into this whole modeling scene. I feel that having a great agent is really everything,” Erik added.
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Erik revealed, “Authenticity.”
“This year, I definitely want to be able to show my audience and my followers who I really am. I want to be authentic with them. I just don’t want to show them pretty photos or just this image of someone. I want my following to see all of me,” he explained.
“I want them to experience who I am because I want to leave something behind,” he noted. “When I leave this world, I don’t want to be just a face or a pretty face. I want to be someone that people could relate to and could see themselves in.”
“I want them to see my journey… going from a normal guy who wasn’t big into studying at school or wasn’t great in studying or sports. I want them to see that if you put down the work, you will be able to really make it big,” he elaborated.
“So, I just want to be my authentic self and show my personality,” he said. “I’ve recently started TikTok… I would go on Live, I would chat with people, share my journey, and give people advice on how to further improve their lives or health on a day-to-day basis. That’s what I want to share.”
“I truly just want people to be able to relate to me because I still see myself as a normal guy who just did not get lucky but worked for things to happen. I want to be able to show that and share that with them, and see that that they themselves, can also do that,” he added.
Success
Regarding his definition of the word success, Erik said, “Success, to me, means being fulfilled. It does not mean contentment but fulfillment, for sure.”
“Success means being in a comfortable space where you feel like your day-to-day is enjoyable,” he added.
Message for his fans
For his fans and supporters, Erik said, “Thank you for the support! If you put down the work, you will be able to accomplish whatever you like. Just work for it! That is my motto, for sure.”
