Jazz star Deborah Silver attended the 2026 Grammy Awards as a nominee. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.
Ms. Silver walked the red carpet as a Grammy nominee for “Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album” for her collaborative album “Basie Rocks!” with The Count Basie Orchestra.
This album re-imagines classic rock songs through a jazz lens and was officially announced as a nominee back in November of 2025, and rightfully so.
Deborah looked stunning on the red carpet wearing a custom gown by Oscar Lopez, jewels by Rosenberg Diamonds, with makeup by Yuko Takahashi and hair by Donald Iannone.
On her Grammy nomination, she told this journalist, “Thank you so much. It still feels surreal. You pour your whole heart into an album, but you never expect something as extraordinary as a Grammy nomination. When I found out, I had one of those ‘pinch-me’ moments. I kept thinking about all the incredible musicians involved, from Steve Jordan to the legendary Count Basie Orchestra and how this project started as a spark of an idea in my head during the Covid lockdown.”
“To see it recognized at this level is overwhelming, humbling, and truly the honor of a lifetime. I am super grateful to every person who has taken a moment to listen to our album,” Silver added.
