Actor and performer Joel Erdmann chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in ReelShort vertical drama “My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You.”
American author Norman Vincent Peale once said: “Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” This quote applies to Joel Erdmann.
The synopsis is: Eric Dawson (Joel Erdmann), the mysterious and secret CEO of luxury brand LMVX, was dumped by his girlfriend Katie in My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You Trailer.
Treated as trash, Eric forms an unexpected alliance with famous teenager Liv Sparks (Katelyn Rose) as her fake boyfriend. But when the bullying gets worse, he unlocks his superpower, his x-ray vision, to take down the global influencers.
This vertical garnered a glowing review from True Hollywood Talk.

On being a part of this ReelShort vertical, he remarked, “This was a really, really fun project. I really had a good time with this one. This was so much fun, and it was the first vertical that I shot for ReelShort.”
“I loved it, as well as everyone in the cast and crew. We had such a family dynamic,” he admitted. “One of the things that I love the most about this is getting to meet cool people such as other fellow creatives and other people that I can push ideas off of.”
“For this one in particular, everybody that was on set made all this magic happen, especially because they really put everything they had in it. They really gave it their all,” he added.
Working with Katelyn Rose
On working with Katelyn Rose as his leading lady, he exclaimed, “Working with Katelyn was incredible! She is such a gem to work with, and she was not only professional but she was kind, lighthearted, and a great deal of fun. I have nothing but the greatest things to say about her. I would love to work with Katelyn again.”
“If the powers that be at ReelShort are reading this, we would love to have a sequel for ‘My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You’,” he said. “We would love to push for something like this to happen.”
“I just felt that we had great chemistry together, and it worked well when we were filming. We had such wonderful moments together while filming this vertical project,” he added.
Erdmann was drawn to playing Eric Dawson for several reason. “I think the funnest thing about him is the contrast that he has against the entire world around him,” he admitted. “Eric is just so nonchalant about everything. It’s not that he doesn’t care, but it’s just almost for him, nothing is that deep, and it’s not that big of a deal.”
“In my comment section, viewers and fans keep telling me that he’s aura farming, and it feels like everyone around me is just providing that. Again, I just love hos cool, calm, and collected Eric is. He is almost exactly how you would imagine a young superhero to be,” he added.
Message for his fans
For his fans and supporters, he said, “I just have so much love for all my fans! I had a built-in fan-base even before I started in the vertical space, but I will say that the fans from verticals have really just shown so much love and support, especially for a newcomer like me in this world.”
“It has just been the most rewarding experience to see all these positive messages from them, and I do see all of their messages, even though I may not always be able to respond to all of them,” he noted. “Their uplifting messages make my day.”
“Sometimes, what actors and people in social media do is tough and can feel a little lonely and it can sometimes feel discouraging, but whenever I open my DMs, I just see the sweetest messages from the fans and they really make my day. I would like to thank them so much,” he said, effusively.
“Whenever I don’t feel like I can publish myself, it feels like they are a strong backbone, and they help me push forward,” he added.
Closing thoughts on this vertical drama
Erdmann remarked, “For me, there are so many people in your life that are going to come against you. If people watch this, I hope they are able to feel like they can relate to Eric, especially from a confidence standpoint. I hope it inspires them to brush off the things in their lives that they don’t need and that they shouldn’t hold a space for.”
“This is probably what I would want the message to be… at least coming from the side of Eric where everybody really just tries to put him down. He is just able to do this for himself, and he will fight for anybody else that he really care for,” he concluded.
