Actress and singer Paige Olivia chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about her work in vertical dramas and her pop song “You Feel Like Home.”

Iconic comedian Groucho Marx once said: “Behind every successful man is a woman, behind her is his wife.” This quote applies to Paige Olivia, the soon-to-be wife of actor Jake Galluccio.

    Vertical dramas

On her experience in the vertical drama world, she remarked, “Oh my gosh, the vertical drama world is such an interesting place. I feel like I have had a pretty good experience overall. I got into verticals pretty early on and so I’d like to say that I did them before they got popular. Now, I feel like they’ve gotten a bit weird, especially some of the scripts I have been reading lately.”

“So, I am glad that I did them before they got weird,” she admitted. “I had a good experience and obviously out of the vertical world, I met a lot of really cool people and I met my fiance Jake. So, I had a good time.”

    The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, she stated, “It’s definitely very different, and everything we do now. I went to college for acting, and our teachers told us about going into audition rooms where we would stand and wait for hours to be seen. Now, it’s so different; we don’t do that anymore.”

“Everything is done virtually on Zoom or via self-tapes,” she noted. “So, it’s very different and I would say that there are both positives and negatives about digital auditions. The nice thing about being in a room is that they can at least get a sense of who you are more, otherwise, they are just not going to watch your tape. So, it’s very different.”

“The nice thing about being in the digital age is doing auditions on your own time… it can be midnight and you can get your self-tape done. It’s not like you would have to take off from work to go attend an audition because as actors we need to have other jobs that make us money while we are auditioning. So, there are pros and cons to both,” she elaborated.

    Plans for the future

Regarding her future plans, she shared, “Oh my gosh. Well, I’m getting married soon. So, that’s in my personal life. I am very excited about that. I’ve been focusing on that because it has been hard to fully audition and accept roles knowing that I’ve got so much to do for the wedding.”

“As far as my career goes, I’m just going with the flow right now. Jake and I are being a lot more selective when it comes to roles that we do and projects we agree to just because of where we are at in our lives,” she said.

“So, I’m just taking it one day at a time,” she admitted. “Obviously if I get a good script, I would want to be a part of it… but a lot of scripts that I’m seeing lately have caused me to take a little step back to focus on the wedding.”

She wishes to continue doing music in the future. “I love doing music,” she exclaimed. “I can’t imagine doing anything mainstream, if that makes sense. So, definitely still going to be in the arts but I am just navigating as I go through this new chapter in life.”

Ironically enough, she wrote the song “You Feel Like Home” for her fiance Jake, and rightfully so. “I love that song,” she exclaimed. “It is so beautiful. I love to write music. It is so much fun.”

“I’ve been doing music since I was very young. My first talent was singing. I grew up doing musical theater, so I love getting to write my own music,” she acknowledged.

“I need to do more of it, but it actually, in order to write songs, you need to like sit down, relax, and enjoy things,” she said.

“I have a new song that I just recorded that should be coming out sometime within the next four months, so I am excited about that one,” she foreshadowed.

    Stage of her life

On the title of the current chapter of her life, she revealed, “The Start of Forever.”

“I’m about to start a completely different chapter in life that I’ve never done before. Obviously, I feel like I’ve finally reached a level of maturity that I’ve obviously never had. So much looks different now. If you even told me a year ago that my life would look like this, I would not believe you. There are just a lot of good changes happening,” she elaborated.

“I’m excited to see what happens going forward because this chapter has been very good and very promising and just so different to anything else I’ve ever done,” she added.

    Superpower of choice

If she were to have a superpower, it would be “invisibility.” “Honestly, I think invisibility would be really cool. I’m super nosy,” she said with a sweet laugh. “I’m trying not to be, but I would love to be able to hear things… so that’s why I would choose this as my superpower.”

    Being engaged to Jake Galluccio

On being engaged to fellow actor Jake Galluccio, she said, “Obviously, it feels good! Otherwise, I wouldn’t have said ‘yes,’ but I can’t imagine doing my life with anybody else. We are so similar. For two people who grew up in completely different countries, it’s weird how perfect we are for each other. We’re literally the same person in different fonts.”

“So, being engaged has been fun,” she admitted. “It has definitely been stressful because I’m type A and I want everything to be perfect for the wedding. Being engaged to someone who is also in the public eye is very interesting.”

“There are definitely good things and bad things that come with it, not to any fault of his own, but, there are a lot of eyes on us. There’s a lot of people with weird intentions. So, that’s the bad side of things, but obviously the positives all outweigh that. I mean, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re both very excited,” she elaborated.

    NYFEST at Brooklyn’s Pier 5

Last week, Galluccio was a part of the 2026 New York Film & Entertainment Soccer Tournament (NYFEST) at Pier 5 in Brooklyn and Paige was there rooting him on from the sidelines.

“That was so much fun,” she admitted. “We didn’t really know what to expect going into it, and Jake does not play soccer at all. So, we had no clue what was going to happen. We just showed up and hoped for the best. It ended up being really fun. We saw a bunch of really cool people and that setting was beautiful.”

“It was a nice, hot day. So, soccer playing didn’t really matter at the end of the day… It was just a really fun day with really cool people for a really great cause. So, we had a lot of fun… and the best part was that Jake’s team wound up winning. We were surprised in the best way possible,” she elaborated.

    Success

On her definition of the word success, she said, “Success is happiness. I’m a Christian, so honoring God, are the two things that go together for me. It’s not only about my happiness. It’s about something much bigger than me.”

“Just knowing that I’ve lived a happy life, a safe life, and a peaceful life where I’ve made people feel loved and made people happy. That’s what success would mean to me,” she noted.

“At the end of the day, if I didn’t have anything materialistic, if I died with nothing to my name, just knowing that I was a good person and I loved people and made them feel safe would be a success,” she added.

    Message for her fans

For her fans and supporters, she said, “Honestly, for anyone who supports me, I want to tell them ‘I love you’ and ‘thank you.’ I love when people are supportive of each other. I think there’s nothing more beautiful than that. I want to support them as well while they support me.”
