On Sunday August 23rd, Luke Charles Stafford hosted his “Against the Wall” premiere at The Culver Theater, for a great turnout. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.

The event will be held in partnership with VertiCon, as part of the 2026 VertiCon Weekend, which is dedicated to creatives and actors in the vertical drama space.

Opening remarks by Luke Charles Stafford

Stafford made the welcoming remarks and asked everyone to give themselves a round of applause for being there. “This whole idea of Dream United was something that came to my mind a little less than 10 years ago. I thought it was something I would do much later in life, especially to start a production company and a studio,” he said.

“One day, I was doing my taxes,” he admitted. “I wish it was sexier than that. Unless you think taxes are sexy, then you are my kind of people.”

That inspired him to do a DBA and start a production company, and called it “Dream United Studios.”

“I thought there would be 30 people that would show up to this thing… we almost have 250 people in this room,” he exclaimed. “So, I just wanted to share with you, from the bottom of my heart, that these things are not just about me. This is about making stories that impact and inspire people.”

“This film is an ode to fatherhood and is based on a real experience in my life, where I learned a lesson that I think is important: Good men are often fathered men… that doesn’t mean it’s your actual father. It means finding someone who can follow you, guide you, and show you the way. In this situation, we see this guy who has lost everything. Then, we see what he decides to make of himself from the ashes, inspired by the memory of his grandpa. So, I’m so glad that you all are here. I’m so honored to see all of your faces. I love you. I hope you enjoy ‘Against the Wall’,” he elaborated.
