Antonio Andrés Rosello chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in “Healthcare Hitman” vertical drama and VertiCon.
‘Healthcare Hitman’
“It was a great experience,” he exclaimed. “Not only was it a very hot topic at the time, but I also got to work with a lot of friends during the production. It was written, produced, and co-directed by my two best friends. It also helped that I look somewhat like the character it is based on. It was my first lead role in a vertical, so of course, I had to do research for the character.”
“I was shocked by how fast-paced everything was… eight days of filming, and then immediately moving on to the next project,” he added.
On playing this anti-hero character, he said, “I loved the range and depth of the character. The script felt very different from what I had seen in verticals before. It was actually a male-oriented vertical because it was primarily centered around him, rather than the romance. Of course, there is a romance in this one, which is different from the original case.”
“This project was really when I really fell in love with the genre and the vertical format,” he added.
On the lessons learned from the screenplay, he said, “In a way, it taught me about depression and about the amount of pressure I put on myself as a performer and as an internationally rising actor.”
“I wanted to give this role my all, and I wanted to do my best,” he exclaimed. “This is a character that lives through tragedy.”
VertiCon
On being a part of this year’s VertiCon, he remarked, “It was amazing! I’m really excited to be part of this growing new industry. I love the fact that we have industry members and fans who are able to connect with each other. It is great to feel the love from both sides.”
“Being able to be part of the auction yesterday was incredible. I was so humbled. I never thought that the poster with my signature would raise $300 for charity. Seeing people bid and actually want to fight for that piece of memorabilia was surreal, to be honest,” he acknowledged.
For his fans, he concluded about VertiCon, “Thank you for coming, and thank you for supporting VertiCon and human productions. Keep coming, because the vertical industry is only going to keep growing from here.”
